I had to design a logo in a day, for some contest promotion. I got lucky and it turned out okay.   100 Journalism Iteration 1

Direction

I always say, send me some reference, so the guy sent me some apple stuff, and some retro images. I like old cameras. I collect them.

I googled some old 40's print design and started some hacky illustration of a photographer. I wasn't big on the illustration.   100 Journalism Logo

It accidentally came together, the retro theme, the circle thing, which I always like, and the eastern block font, courtesy of Lost Type Co-op.

Book Covers Made Easy Good design is about being superbly common. Every year, folks look to other people magazines to agree and dress the same. Some dude in some office somewhere decided red was happening.   With book covers, we’re designing new covers to look like successful covers, because being different doesn’t attract attention. We crave common. With that being said, let’s make nothing new.   Finding an image If our goal is to be common, you’d never need to create original assets.
